If the US had not sponsored the muhajeddin, it is unlikely the Russians would have gotten bogged down. The entire Islamic world will not turn against the United States. Already, most Arab and Muslim states are on the side of the US. There are no fronts unless we make them. It is up to us. Besides, without the logistical ability to link forces, nations like Libya and Syria are pathetically weak compared to us and our allies. Anyway, if you have paid attention to the news, the Administration is doing a wonderful job lining up support.
