China raises gold prices
.......BEIJING : China's central bank raised its buying and selling prices for gold on Friday in a special move outside of the regular weekly fix. The hike follows a sharp rise in international gold prices following the terror attacks on the United States on Tuesday. A central bank official declined to comment on the move. China typically sets gold prices at a weekly fix on Monday.
.......The bank's website www.pbc.gov.cn gave the following results of the hike. The previous prices are in brackets.

.......Purchase price - 73.15 yuan per gram (71.82)
.......Selling price - 74.87 yuan per gram (73.25)
.......For gold of 99.95 pct purity:
