We put the fear of God into a certain terrifying enemy in the past... I'd like someone to tell me how we can possibly deal with people who by every evidence believe they're going to go meet their POS god by committing the kinds of terrorist acts we've witnessed. Who will patiently spend at least the last 5 years of their life single mindedly carrying out a long term mission with certain death at the outcome. We could vitrify all of Afghanistan, what will that accomplish? A worthless land-locked country run by a band of religious lunatics belonging to the most dangerous sect on the planet. All the key people who were pulling the strings have crossed the border to Pakistan, lord knows where they are really hiding now. I know, we're now hearing about a new "War on terrorism"... if it's as successful as the "War on drugs", we're in some deep shit going forward.
