Rsi-boy Re..The standardized nuclear plant exists. It's Canada's CANDU reactor, a design that is used throughout Canada and has been exported to several other nations <<<<

Candu is a light water reactor, in that water is the cooling medium. Helium has several advantages though. For one Helium can run hotter, 900 degrees, as opposed to 500 degrees, which increases the HTGR efficiency over 45%. Helium is not only the coolant, but also the moderator, which means if the Helium is lost, the reaction stops on its own, no safety system is needed. While the reactor can heat up to app. 3000 degrees F.; the ceramic vessel and piping and graphite pellets can withstand up to 6000 degrees; 3000 degrees hotter than the theoretical maximum of the pellets. Helium is inert to uranium so a release of Helium will not release radiation, and Helium isn't corrosive to piping and turbines. Up till recently, getting turbines which could handle the high temps. had been the problem, but high temp. gas turbines have been used in natural gas systems for yr.s now. Plus manufacturing a ceramic vessel.
