Davidd....I don't have any sources immediately available to quote from to support my statement.....But do you have any sources readily available to quote from that would form a disagreement with the premise that Colin Powell enjoyed putting his troops at risk without a clear mandate to wipe out the enemy they were fighting? With the military, it's usually a mandate to finish the job or not try it in the first place. Politicans and the sensitivities of the populace sometimes dilute the military's mission. There is a balance to be found in this mess somewhere.
