Sun Tsu, don't forget Turkey, a country in which Islam is practiced by the majority of the population, but yet, is relatively devoid of those religious strife (sure, there are some movement of "neo Islamism" there, just as we have neo nazism in Germany and Austria, and from time to time elements of xenophoebia in France as well). Thus, a secular society with Islam as the faith of the majority, is not an impossible dream, even when such a country has long term ties to the US. Morroco is to some extent another example. Zeev
