Hi CB, Thanks. Why did I suspect that the dissenter is a her by unusually and specifically asking "his/her reasoning".

On her <<email today>>, yes, that would be a nasty task.

In any case, I have 'commanded' my mom, aunt, wife and mother-in-law to (a) forget the Paris trip, (b) drastically cut frivolity, (c) buy only food and replacement clothing, and (d) not believe anything they read or see on TV at first sight, about events past or future.

I have instructed my China based Jewish brother to remit all excess funds to Hong Kong for unified allocation.

I have asked the Russian Jewish niece to try getting out of her Salt Lake duties in February/March.

The clan is now at Defcon 5, and I, of course, am in charge. My father-in-law initially wanted to consent to my mother-in-law on proceeding with the Paris trip, because his instinct is somewhat rusty, I told my wife.

The fact that war just started, and that brand name troops all over the world are moving to positions against whatever, and generic brand troops are already positioned, have not fully sunk in yet.

On TV now is image of a large gathering of candlelight holding folks around the l’Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

In some sense nothing has changed since before Monday, and yet everything has changed. The world is as it was, dangerous, and bloody; and America is delayed in disengagement.

When this is all over, we will collectively have seen History, with a capital H, up close, and understand many more events from long ago.

Today I spent some time talking to an old-timer American money manager, a younger American fund manager, my HK Monetary Authority friend, and a Taiwan friend. I would say all four have drastically changed their previous assumptions. I will talk about them tomorrow. Have to nap now.

Chugs, Jay
