Oops. I was being facetious here. Reading A.Spirit and others' exhortations to blindly buy stock Monday got me to thinking about who they would buy it from. If they got their way there would be a huge opening imbalance with absurdly high prices, the proceeds, of course, going to the traitorous sellers.

I remember 20 odd years ago when Braniff declared bankruptcy. I was then a trading assistant in a small local firm and there were dozens of people lined up that morning wanting to buy Braniff stock, thinking that would somehow be a donation to the airline. I wonder if this generation's bagholders will be so naive.
