Lot simpler if the cockpit crew had audio/video sensors to monitor what was going on in the cabin. This is not a very expensive fix.

As hi-jackers tend to move about the cabin vs being strapped in, the captain can pretty easily put them all on the floor or ceiling in an instant.

You do keep your belt at least lightly fastened at all times don't you?
