It seems to be a difficult concept for those who hate, or are ignorant of, religion to grasp. The Christians I know well, openly say that the Crusades were, at best, foolish, and the Inquisition was an early form of ethnic "cleansing" in an attempt to terminate all those who did not believe as they did. Truly religious people crave for peace on this Earth. As far as I know, that is true in all of the major religions.
That being said, regardless of what the Taliban leaders are saying now, or however much they claim to want to be of help in finding Bin Laden, they have harbored, and abetted, him for years with the full knowledge of what his temperament was, and that he fostered terrorist activities. Therefore, the Taliban must be punished in a way that the world will never forget. Those that harbor terrorists, are terrorists themselves.
