I think the airlines threat is over. In any future hijacking, how many will think the country is at risk and fight back? Most.

I'm sure the boxcutters and knives were not the main deterrent last Tuesday; it was the threat of a bomb. No proof of a bomb, or anything larger than a penknife has emerged; sounds like security is doing a decent job already.

I'm sure a few more steps will be taken, but to some degree, we're locking the barn door after the horse has bolted. The criminals aren't trying to outguess the next level of airline security. They're looking for fresh ways to sneak up on us.
