Hi Terry Maloney; Actually, you're twisting Ayn Rand's statement a bit. She said that all the inhabitants of a country are responsible for the nations' actions, and are therefore fair game. In order to get from there to the statement that the WTC victims were fair game, you have to make an assessment of the United States' (and I suppose, technically, all those other nations') policies.

In other words, just because it was justified for the US to bomb Japan's civilians doesn't mean that it's similarly justified for Germany to, for instance, kill all the Jews. The Jews never threatened Germany, while the Japanese attacked the US.
