>>Canada will stand beside the US<<

Hi Marcos. Lots of planes here were diverted to Canada. One KAL jet was briefly believed to have been hijacked. An evacuation order was issued for downtown Anchorage, and fighters were scrambled from Elmendorf AFB to reroute it to Whitehorse. I slept through all this, and woke up after the excitement ended.

And then for several days the sky here in the air crossroads of the world was strangely quiet, with the only sound in the sky being F15s on combat air patrol. This came smack in the middle of hunting season, so lots of hunters were stranded out in the bush waiting for their pickup planes. And many bush communities are dependent on air delivery for food, so folks were getting rather antsy after a couple of days.

Looks like Bush will have to tone down his unilateral foreign policy. And I imagine the US and Canada will be having some rather frank discussions about border issues, since some of the killers came through Canada. Osama bin Laden and his ilk are the most dangerous plague ever faced by humanity. None of us will be safe anywhere in the world if that crowd gets ahold of weapons of mass destruction.
