MK, that was a good article. The next phase in the campaign is where we start lionizing our allies. I still remember how the Viet Cong were supposedly afraid of one tribe who was on our side. And how they ran from Aussie troops. Or how the Koreans and Chinese were afraid of the Turks. Not to take anything away from the fighting prowess of those groups, but their impact on the outcome of those wars was appreciated but not decisive. We always over praise our allies. We always hope that by getting somebody on our side, the other guys will throw up their hands and say "forget it. We're out of here." And it just doesn't happen.
