The smart person, the smart investor:

-- DOES NOT invest on the basis of "helping to support America"

-- DOES look to how the economy is doing, what investor sentiment is like, how PC and tech sales are doing, which industries will grow

-- DOES NOT go out and consume junk from the malls "because it helps America get rolling again"

-- DOES think about his home, his security, his readiness

-- DOES NOT utter slogans about how American can do well if it only _wants_ to do well

-- DOES think about the dangers of soft targets, militarized smallpox attacks, large crowds in stadiums near airports, locations below large dams, etc.

-- DOES NOT claim to know precisely which way markets will move on any particular day, just knows a recession when he has seen several of them
