Very good thought.

I'll say something that may get me in trouble with many.

I question the goal of president Bush already:

A war on terrorism?? Sounds like a good rallying cry, but is there any practical way to do that?

I believe he should narrow his focus to finding those directly & indirectly responsible for this attack -- retaliate without warning or fanfare -- and do what is practicable here to prevent future occurences without unduly impinging on our freedoms.

The frustration is acute because those most directly responsible for the attacks are all dead. Such fanaticism appears to be madness to us and to try and understand it may appear to be a waste of time, but it is worth trying to understand what motivated these people -- if for no other purpose, in order to defeat them.

There is simply no getting around the truth of the initial point made by that war-monger type link you posted:

We have suffered a humiliating and symbolic defeat in these attacks. No, it's not the end, and not something we can't recover from, but evil men do win from time to time and they won this round.
