I'm afraid Voltaire is right. The Soviets have proven that anything short of a small nuclear device will prove pointless in the long run in the mountains there. It's like smoking a joint to feel better because a meteor is about to land on your house. You may feel good, but you will still get squashed if you don't move or destroy the meteor.
