Yes, very confusing. Not that other major religions have any mystical non-answers, now, do they?

I agree that it will be folly to take a scholarly approach to understand Islamic fundamentalism; it defies comprehension with its intellectual laziness and lack of rigor in reason.

Suffice it to say that in many Islamic countries, and perhaps all, the majority choose liberal interpretations (just as intellectually lazy, but way more compassionate) and do not choose to demonize all others. It is akin to the Catholic who follows most of the Vatican's orders, but chooses birth control pills.... convenient, unlawful, but more reasonable.

Let's do our best to avoid creating more enemies than already exist.

BTW, I am way behind on posts and seemingly cannot even gain on this thread because it moves so fast. One reason is an awful lot of interaction with one or two distracters who are repetititious in their insults, vague in their critiques and transparent in purpose: they are here to disrupt and mock. With one, I suspect a ringer, possibly a Muslim extremist but at least a hater of Americans.... and encourage others to give strong consideration to blocking outright: Ilmarinen

Be prepared for others who arise to create discord in our quest to understand and to defeat the efforts of criminal murderers.
