I heard on tv tonight that Europe is wary of the US government's use of the term"WAR." However, the report also said that Europe was encouraged that the US reached out to NATO through section 5 and that the US tries to form alliances. (Remeber that Condi Rice wanted to pull us out of NATO!!) It's also important that Bin Laden's financial assests have been frozen. I don't know when this was done. (Remeber how Paul O'Neill refused to look into tax havens where drug dealers and terrorists found safe havens for their money.) It may be too late to turn back. There will be retribution, but I heard a minister ask on tv that it was important to think about reconciliation between the US and those who hate us.. I believe his last name was Taylor. I heard only the latter part of his interview but he was impressive.
