Man- that is powerful. Enough said.

Edit: well maybe not enough. There is another approach for a ground invasion, from the North. I can't tell if the Northern Alliance would prove a worse medicine than the Taliban, but they could help the US remove the perpetrators.

Pakistan worries me. Tonight it occurred that Pakistan could be behind the whole thing, using Afghanistan as the scapegoat. More likely, a good portion of the population is quite pleased at the turn of events and the military leadership just wants to maintain their power and control for a period of time.

Once cleaned up, clearly we need to help the survivors develop some sort of prosperity. Originally I was thinking just go in and clean house, then give it back to the russians. But I don't think russia would want it.

There is no one more dangerous than someone who has nothing to loose. By establishing prosperity in the region, we may be able to gain stability and peace.
