Carolyn, don't let hatred blind your intellect...
Yesterday, a French TV network broadcast the shootage of one of the journalists who was aboard the Russian helicopter carrying a dozen other journalists to interview Ahmad Shah Masood in his Afghan den... So, we all saw the two hitmen who allegedly managed to kill him on Sunday 9th. They didn't look Taleban, they were Western-like fellows (they were carrying Belgian passports, after all!). Cold-looking and cold-blooded as the journalist who filmed them recalls... Of course, for some unexplained reason, she wasn't allowed to travel the "last mile" up to Masood's camp --but the killers were. So, she didn't witness how Masood was really disposed of.
Now, the interesting thing about the official conspiracy on Masood's assassination lies in its twisted/silly logic:
--first, we're told that the WTC/Pentagon attacks were plotted and executed by the Taleban juggernaut;
--second, since the Taleban are very astute people, they ANTICIPATED the terrible retaliations the US authorities would bring upon their country... So, in a devilish attempt to foil the US reprisals, they successfully killed Masood in order that their unremitting arch-enemy couldn't be brought along in the reprisals campaign. Such a far-sighted wisdom indeed! But then, tell me, Carolyn, since the Taleban wanted to be cast as glorious martyrs all along, WHY DIDN'T THEY CLAIM THE WTC/PENTAGON ATTACKS IN THE FIRST PLACE?????
