Thank you for reminding me about the "land bridge". It is interesting and it makes a lot of sense.

Have you any ideas why the ancestors of the present-day Hungarians and Finns (there's a link in their languages, right?) located in Siberia near the rivers Amur and Lena did not come into what is now Alaska but instead migrate into an area neighbouring present-day Germany where the migrant Hungarian chief had his ears cut off by the local German chief?
