OO7, Many people are asserting we deserve or perhaps should expect such calamity for a variety of reasons. Most of them are inserting into this crisis old arguments from other political contexts. These two are attaching old issues and grudges to this event, as many politicians and citizens are also doing at this time. That is inappropriate and actually detracts from the goals at hand. I heard one lady refer to our "rape of the world," for instance. That is an o.k. topic, and it might have some relevance, but is really another issue. Perhaps your intensity comes from disagreeing with them earlier about those issues, also. But this is not the occasion to divert our attention from the terrorists to resume old battles between ourselves. Falwell's positions are consistent, nothing new, and claiming this is judgement is an interpretation of the event, an abstraction within certain presuppositions. It is a far cry from such an event itself.
