Bilow Re...First of all, Neutron bombs are designed for use against concentrations of well armored or well dug-in enemy. <<<<<<

First of all, I believe there are small neutron artillery shells, not bombs, capable of rooting out well dug in guerella forces. When we think of nuclear bombs, we usually think of a bomb capable of wiping out a city. I am talking about a small shell, which has a very limited range, less than 500 ft. and leaves no nuclear residue. I believe Bin Laden wants a protracted battle fought with conventional weapons, so he can inflict heavy casualties upon us. Whether he wins the battles won't be so important as inflicting heavy casualties. Mountain fighting, as shown in Italy, and on the mountainous islands in the pacific, have inflicted heavy casualties in the past. The biggest part probably is finding him before he get you. If you recall, I preceded my piece on the neutron shells by saying we have prototypes of new hand rifles which can see through walls. With these we just may be able to find him first. Otherwise we will need help from the local population, or possibly use small theater neutron shells to eliminate a well dug in enemy.

We need to fight to win. And we must use the weapons we have which are suitable to win. Will the FAE do the job? Maybe. At any rate, my point was that we need to do whatever it takes to win. Now is not the time to equivocate.
