If you want to terrorize a terrorist.
It has to be psychological warfare.
Get in side their mind.
Get in side the fiber of their being.
Get in side and understand what makes them tick.
(throw them off balance)
Then and only then can you start to make some change.
You want to control the masses they control.
You need to understand them.
I don't know where that starts.
The answer is not force.
The answer is not blowing them up.
that does not scare them.

impristine, For once I agree with you. Excellent observations!
That is the only way to attack terrorists. If bombs are dropped, lots of innocent people will die and that may only strengthen the terrorists' support.
Now the USA has gotten sympathy even from Iran. It is better to make all these countries your allies in this war; that may be the only way to win it. If those governments start cracking down on terrorist activities, much more will be accomplished than just by bombing targets.

What I fear is the future use of weapons of mass destruction against the US. That is another reason you want those countries on your side. Maybe a common enemy will be found---terrorism. That is my hope.

I bet that Bin Laden lost lots and lots of supporters (governments and individuals) after this bombing. Maybe part of this war has already been won!

I am not suggesting that bombings are unnecessary but may not be as important as many believe. I think GW and company has this thing figured out.
