I'm originally from Britain and am now Canadian. Exactly because of Neville Chamberlain I am dead against appeasement. Back in the 30s it was the same types, left wing liberals, who could not see what was coming, but as you say Churchill did. Now the Guardian and Independent are espousing the same mealy mouth policies and IMO they are rags. You pose a very interesting situation if Bin Laden is handed over, I would guess the odds at 20% that this will happen. The allies must still go in and unwind the terrorist hideouts and schools. As regards Bin Laden, his punishment could be being thrown from the Empire State Building. He's guilty of prior American deaths anyway. I have not read about $300 billion in aid to Pakistan, perhaps we should give them a billion ounces of gold, that's about $300 billion. Oh yes we don't have that much. how about 1 million ounces valued at $300,000 an ounce.
