Suggested Topics for Discussion - 9/16/2001

Hello Everyone,

[ I posted this guide last night but I'm afraid it has become lost in the flurry of today's activity. Please take the time to consider these suggestions. Also, please read the header and examine a few of the suggested references. TIA, --fl ]

I've posted a few news items that I hope will prove interesting and provocative. We will work together for the next few days and weeks to develop the character of this thread. I encourage you to spend some time reading the the resources I have supplied, both in the header and in my posts.

You can help with the evolution of this forum by trying to focus on the general interest subjects that are currently in the news -- these wil provide fodder for lively discussions. I also hope you will try and follow my lead on the general discussion topics until we develop more established "personality."

I suggest our current discussions revolve around:
1. Terrorism - it's nature, history, current developments, and WMD threats
2. Our relationships with China
3. Our relationships with countries in the Middle East
4. Our relationsips with the EU countries
5. The pros and cons of the national missile defense (NMD)

Thanks,
Ken/FL
