MB,
i said i want to be part of the solution. to that end i have a few more thoughts i would like to share.

several days ago i suggested this may be a feint or jab and a bigger or different strike may be coming. this weekend our senior leaders have been saying similar words during tv interviews.
i do not take their words lightly...when our leaders warn us of further attacks we should believe they have very good reasons to issue the warnings.

i believe the severe concentration of defensive forces to protect our air travel may prove to be unwise. it seems everyone and everything is oriented towards making air travel safe...imo airplanes and airports may be the safest place to be right now...every law enforcement agency is concentrated there and armed with the knowledge of last week's attacks, there is no way that a few guys with plastic knives will get away with a hijacking right now. every man, women and child in America would unbuckle their seatbelts and fight anyone attempting such an act.

if any future attacks involve nuclear, biological or chemical weapons in your area there is still action one can take to protect themselves...the most obvious is to get away from the threat...there is a technique that i would recommend to determine the direction to go.

you need 3 pieces of information. they are:
your location
ground zero or the location of the attack
the current wind direction

you also need a cone...you can cut out an ice cream cone shape from a 3x5 card.

regarding wind direction...it is important to know that wind direction is always given as the source of the wind....this means that a weather man reporting northerly winds really means the winds originate in the north and are blowing south. you can get the wind direction from any weather station, airport, newspaper or weather.com...you can also walk outside, throw a few pieces of grass in the air and observe the direction it goes.

plot your location and ground zero on your map...place the narrow or pointed end of the cone directly on ground zero. turn the cone so the ice cream end is pointed in the direction the wind is blowing to.

you will immediately have a clear picture of which direction to go and which highways to use..

i hope nobody needs this information but
if this is not completely clear please ask me questions.
