Killing terrorists in and of itself is insufficient. Where the Russians went wrong is they did not offer a more attractive alternative. The terrorists are a small minority, they are tolerated and supported by the majority because they are as good as their other options. We had very few problems occupying Germany and Japan after WWII because we offered the populace a better alternative. So, there are two aspects of annihilation of terrorism on this planet and we have to work on both aspects of it. I sense from Bush and Cheney's comments on TV today that they realize this and they are preparing to deal with terrorism on all fronts in every way necessary to achieve their goals. Best to all, JRH
