I notice the use of the word 'we' by Tom. And your compiling of lists. And what I can only perceive to be implied threats to posters on this thread. I've just finished watching an ABC documentary on the McCarthy hearings circa 1952. Some of you on this thread would make perfect members of a 2001 House Committee on UnAmerican Activities. Thank God that America is bigger than you lot. We're gong to see America in all its diversity rise up. Interesting that the moderate people appear to be the New Yorkers. An interesting fact which came out of the documentary was that the most hawkish members of the Screen Actors Guild - the ones who destroyed careers, wrapping themselves in the American Flag were John Ford, John Wayne, Cecil B. de Mille. The only uniform that The Duke wore was supplied by the costume department - unlike many of the victims who served their flag and country. Are we on this board seeing the kernel of the new McCarthysm?
