Yes and I forgot Leila Kahled, Jeanne d;Arc, Boadicea, QE1, and 20,000 females aboard Nelson's Trafalgar fleet to name a few. Chicks are bad! Wanna fight it out and find out how bad you really are? Jes Kidding. Women commit less than 10% of the crimes. Canada has only on women's penitentiary. I really think they are not holding their end up, but I realize it is hard to hold a bank up while holding a toddler and a lapbaby. Getaway strollers with mag wheels are in short supply too. We are trying to improve daycare for women career criminals but it is hard to get legislators to come across when the need is clear. I suggest white collar crime instead as it is natural for the female's superior duplicity.
The people who did this do not view it as a crime. Unless they jumped from the cockpit, they died doing it. They are widely regarded by certain political sects as soldiers and honourable heroes. You have to admire their training, single minded dedication and preseverence. They started this about 2 years ago and they knew they were not coming back. Either they were already dying of an incurable disease or their provocation was as extreme as it gets. To underestimate the enemy s the worst mistake you can make. To misunderstand the enemy is a bad mistake as well. I knew many who fought the Germans in the WWII. The units I knew who routinely beat them did so by cool calculated action. War is a scientific and precise business. IT is 90% head and ten precent heart. All risks are calculated with a slide rule and implemented with careful planning and knowledge. Just like our terrorist attacks, we have suffered so recently. It is instructive to note that it was the Nazi regime in France duing WWII who coined the term "Terrorist" to describe the French Resistance fighters. One man's terrorists is another man's hero.
If the Arabs are really in their minds so provoked and suppressed by the US and its policies that they cannot bear the actions of that power, then to strike at it, is not a crime in thier parlance. The question is who is so oppressed? The only country I can think of who would thinik they are at war with the US is Iraq. Perhaps Palestine thinks it is put upon by US support of Israeli actions. If Bin Laden really believes the US base in Saudi Arabia is a thgreat to the Arabs I would say he is living in dream world or has pretensions at control of the Saudi empire. It it were Bin Laden's actions, I would say they border on the criminal. I am not so sure that an Iraqui could be classified as siuch as the US has an oppressive action against them. Palestine again has some cause for concenr in the Jewish setllements but I do not think it calls for such extremity of action. On the other hand with the recent top level assasinations of Palestinians this thing could very well be a retaliation. The trouble is the planning and execution has such a long lead time with traning. This leads right back to Bin Laden and the Iraquis. Botth Bin Laden and the Iraquis had identical denials. "We ddin't do it but we admire who did and how." While this form of denials is fairly credible usually, we would have a hard time believing that the Palestnians planned it for 2 years. They could have but they just ain't suffering enough to do it. Could it be Bin Laden AND the Iraquis. The Iraquis dos a deal with him to get the men trained. They throw the trail off by using Yemeni names on ID. The deal is to destabailze the Saudis and force a popular takeover of the peninsula from within by Bin Laden. To do this they have to force the US out of the Saudi peninsula. It is a bit hare brained but nobody ever accused the Iraqwuis of thinking too straight. What they would have banked on is the finger pointing at the Palestinians to allow the US no levearge in the Peninsula. They might have thought that the US would pull back from Saudi Arabia as a concession to make peace in Palestine.
The Palestinians started hijackings and they are the kings of sucide stuff. Bin Laden specializes in bombing and military action. It would be a departure for him. It is hard to get pro soldiers to die as matter of course, They like odds but not zero. But knowing this and co-ordinationg with Jihad and Fatah, could they have planned the timing.? We must not think the pro-Arab forces are only reactive, they must be capable of long term planning.
Could the attackers have jumped from pilot exitways? I think they have those on 767's. By settingt the GPS course and auotpilot they could fly the thing to London and land it at the airport hands off the stick. It would not be too hard to get recruits for that.
If we look at the jets flying into buldings it is a lot like a cruise missle. Could be Gulf War payback.
