........."The Rev. Jerry Falwell said on the "700 Club TV show Friday that the United States was vulnerable to terrorist attack because of non-Christians, liberal civil liberties groups, feminists, homosexuals and abortionists.

Such divisive vilification at the very time that President Bush has called for national unity is stunningly inappropriate. Falwell's comments contrast starkly with those of the Rev. Billy Graham, the aging evangelist who appeared on the same stage with a rabbi and Muslim minister at the national prayer service in Washington, D.C., on Friday.

Unlike Falwell, Graham instead called on Americans to "become stronger though all of this struggle to rebuild on a solid foundation."..............
