If a stock is at $30 and a person has a stop loss at $28 and the stock opens at $25, what happens to the stop loss?

Do all outstanding stop losses get executed on the way down?

I would guess no.

If during the course of the day the stock rises to $29 does the stop loss get triggered on the way up?

just curious
