Tom--the romantic is for us the public, to gain support to push through initiatives while the support is high. And that is, actually, realistic on the part of our "leaders" (some of whom I raise a skeptical and disgusted eyebrow about, but that's neither here nor there). I have always thought Cheney was brilliant, absolutely; and Powell is great too--and measured--and patient--very necessary-- They know the score. It's always about realism with countries--why Pakistan agrees now--why we won't bomb Saudia Arabia even if those in power continue to support Bin Laden & terrorists with secret funding--why Russia probably WILL come around if we handle this well--there is NOTHING but realism in war. I really don't think our hawkish leaders are romantics. Your friend always Jillster
