Bob, not sure about the court proceedings but I was able to dig this up:
District Court, Weld County, Colorado McCormick, et al.
Weld county is in the far north end of Colorado above Denver. With drilling in the southeastern part of the state I hope the land IMMM drilled on is safe from this law suit. I believe the land IMMM is drilling on is in Las Animas county. Here is a URL to Colorado courts: rmii.com
After reading the April 16th news release again I started wondering exactly where are they drilling? The release states: "The objective formation is the Pennsylvanian Morrow channel sandstone's of the "Stateline" trend which may contain productive Morrow channels. The drilling site, the first of fifty-two wells planned by IMMM on UPR land, is adjacent to the Second Wind field, which IMMM hopes to extend."
UPR's land grant:
UPR owns the mineral rights, via land granted to UP Railroad, in alternating sections (1 section = 1 square mile) in a 40 mile wide (20 miles on both sides of the UP railroad track) strip of land which runs from eastern Colorado, north through the Denver area and across the Southern part of Wyoming into eastern Utah.
Look at the map on IMMM web site: emsounder.com Is that Stockholm, Colorado or a name given to a nearby oil field like Second Windy? I tried to put this close to UP railroad as it should be within 20 miles of the railroad track on either side. Here's a URL to UP's railroad map: up.com and a county map for Colorado: entertain.com I tried to look back and see if anyone had reported the exact location of the drill site on this thread but could not. I don't have a very good road atlas for Colorado here in Japan and could not find a good one on the web. Anybody know exactly where and what town it's nearby?
Still digging,
