In any case, you must realize that now Bush has a far far stronger hand: he will most probably have a blank check from Congress and the American people in terms of pressure, economic and military aid that he can dangle in front of the Palestinians and Israelis to get them to sign. In effect, I think we now have much better chances to get a lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace, because the stakes are enormous for us: the specter of nuclear incineration of one or more American cities.
