2. Whatever Bush has in mind, he is moving too fast

I say you cannot move to fast....to keep Bin Laden in his hole until we find him and ...to keep all the others worried about whether they have been discovered or compromised. Terrorists who are being actively and relentlessly chased will have fewer communications, meetings, opportunities and hence, successes. Regardless of their suicidal dreams they have the same reactions to danger as anyone else, especially if that danger conflicts with eventual success.

Bin Laden is extremely important. He's the same kind of symbol that the WTC Towers were, highly visible. He is protected by the zealous and committed. If he falls there will be a reaction to it amongst his followers. Until it happens we will not find out the extent of damage it will cause but he is the best choice, by far. The only down side will be if we are stupid enough to declare "any" kind of victory with his capture. It should merely be treated as inevitable and part of the larger victory to come (which incidentally may not ever come. There will always be nuts out there.
