as crazy as this may sound, the internals today could finish better than what they were on 8/30 (it should be a lock if ko goes green into the close). we're still within the expanding triangle, but if we break out of it briefly, everybody is going to get bearish. i spent a lot of time this weekend looking at the crash in 87 and it appears that the dow broke out of its current expanding triangle briefly, got everybody bearish, and the decline stopped from an expanding triangle from 83. we're still inside the current triangle, but i noticed that there's an expanding triangle from 96 that might be possible support. my charting software sucks though so i'm not sure if its support is over or under the current triangle's support. another good area for support would be the .786 retrace off of the 98 lows. i think an important thing to watch is the nyse short interest. if it starts to fall from here, i think it'll be an easy call to say the bottom is in. hope everybody is doing a.o.k!
