Sam, thanks for the article. I believe that CPQ (or DELL) would be crazy to let this ALR deal go through without a counter. The total price GTW is paying is about $130 million, and they will be adding almost $200 million in revenues to their yearly numbers, instantly!!!! But, as the article points out, they will become a major force against CPQ overnight. That alone should be worth $250 million to CPQ ($25 share) --- they could pick up ALR and its revenues, increase the integrity and variety of their servers, become a stronger company, and prevent GTW from taking business. For the life of me I can't imagine we have heard the last of this transaction ... BTW, Lu and insiders do not control more than 50% of the stock, so it's not approved yet!
P.S. The stock is a steal of a buy at $15.50 if you have discount broker ... $20 bucks a trade, and if there is more action on the offer, you can make a few $$$ --- If not, only lose your $20!!!! |
