Having not looked at any news since the morning paper, no, it wasn't something I knew about, as it happens.

And now that you know about it, you don't want to comment. That could potentially lead to a positive comment about the president's ability to act in a leaderhsip role.

You'd prefer instead to waste bandwidth and energy focusing on the things you believe won't happen, can't happen, might not happen, or didn't happen. I'd like to see a person of your ability taking a more positive view of things going on around you. I'd like to see you taking a leadership role in helping people appreciate those things. If you're right that the president isn't taking concrete action, be something you're criticizing the president for not being; take a demonstrative leadership role.
