Thanks for the post.

I am trying to figure out what will happened to the price of long term treasuries. My bet was that deflation was in the cards and the 30 year treasury would be a good investment. I felt that it would totally choke the economy if it got anywhere close to 9% and I started a plan to buy 1/4ths. I bought some close to 6% and had plans to buy the rest at 7%, 8% and 9%. I felt comfortable with this because of the massive debt load by all parties in the country, i.e. government, corporations and individuals. What I did want was non callable high quality debt.

One thing that has changed during the last week is the insurance companies will probably be selling long term treasuries to pay for their losses. Also flight from foreign investments may be greater now than before.

Nothing is ever clear. <g>
