If that is so, who used the word "Storm Trooper?"
Notice, to anyone with half-a-brain, it is clear that that the statement:
International terrorism is Muslim / Arab
is not equal to
Muslim / Arabs are international terrorists
Unfortunately that's not true of many Americans at this point, and heated anti-Muslim/Arab rhetoric makes a bad situation worse.
But when a sacred cow of Political Correctness appears on horizon, you are willing to suspend logic, and hammer your ideology, in complete disregard of the tragedy that just occurred.
How can you possibly make any progress in stopping international terrorism, which is predominantly Arab / Muslim, if you even refuse to accept the premise, in order to maintain loyalty to your ideology?
You're putting words into my mouth on this one. I have never said any of this, nor have I proposed it. It's easy to win an argument if you craft the opponent's point yourself. Let me make things perfectly clear in plain black and white:
1) I am concerned about many of my friends who are American citizens (naturalized and otherwise) who are either Islamic or of Arabian descent.
2) Restricting immigration sounds like a good idea on paper, and it can be done, I just question how effective it would be. It may make things a little harder for the terrorists, but it wouldn't stop them. There are also people legitimately seeking asylum in the U.S. Do we turn them away? Maybe we do, but from the tone of the rhetoric I'm hearing on this board, it's not clear that people have considered this.
3) I am concerned about the Rights of Americans being trampled on in our zeal to punish the terrorists.
That's it... end of line. I don't want to protect terrorists. I just want to make sure we identify the enemy before we shoot, not vice versa.
I don't know, I hope not too many. We have police and courts to deal with that.
Why don't you go find out? There have been several stories about violence against Arab-Americans since Tuesday afternoon. Basically the authorities have gotten over a year's worth of complaints in less than a week, and it's getting worse.
Where do you get this stuff? Anyone who doesn't march in goose step with the Politically Correct storm troopers is a racial bigot? At least you are doing your job of a Politically Correct Storm Trooper well. The job of a Politically Correct Storm Trooper, for those who don't know is to silence opposition by accusing them of being racists and bigots.

I was shocked at its tone, and responded. You then accused me of being a PC Storm Trooper. I therefore concluded that you agreed with the sentiment in Ali’s post. If that was in error, I apologize, but you should have made your disagreement with the tone of Ali’s post more clear if you in fact disagreed. If you didn’t, please tell me how the following phrase from Ali’s post could be construed as anything but racist: “Therefore the fact of public victorious manifestations gives me the right to conclude that their whole society is seriously sick, and has to be contained or cured by all available means.” |
