Mephisto!

About the only thing I'm good for is telling Bill when he should have bought a particular stock or when he should have sold it. Hindsight is my specialty. Needless to say, he doesn't listen to me much! <g>

Stock tips on AOL last spring almost ruined our retirement nest egg. We had just entered the market in February on a hot tip I got on Atari. We knew nothing at all about what we were doing. Then, when Atari doubled, then tripled, greed reared its ugly head, and I talked Bill into investing in three penny stocks. I'm sure you know what happened next! Sad story. Then the techs took a dive in July which almost finished the story.

But after the nice rally and a few pretty smart moves, Bill pulled us back into the plus column again. So, no, he doesn't invest anymore without doing his DD. I just stay out of it!

As far as analysts go...they're right up there in popularity with the Market Makers. Anything to make investors jump in and out of stocks! What a business!

Our daughter is a stock broker...formerly with Merrill Lynch...now with a smaller firm in Dallas. She deals mostly in bonds and wasn't too happy with us when she found out what we had done with our money last spring. Kept trying to tell us that we were too old and too close to retirement to be playing with risky stocks...should be in bonds. We showed her! She was right! Nothing worse than being proven wrong by your own child!

Must get back to work...fun chatting with you!

Hope you'll come see us later on today...if I ever get off SI! I've really been bad this morning!
