Hi BirdDog: I might should wait to respond for surely someone will be on here that knows the full skinnies.

It is a two barrel gun. Standard UN bullets so they can use ammo from fallen troops.

One barrel shoots some kind of small missile, guided by laser from the helmet.

They can guide the missile behind objects.

The helmet is going to have various things to allow the soldier ways to find and properly identify a person. Other soldiers will show up as a certain color, for example.

Night vision of course, but I got the impression there will be daytime enhancements of some kind available.

They will have communications in their helmets to provide guidance with helicopters above, also providing laser guidance. When they can't talk, they use a wrist keypad whereby they can type messages.

That's a brief, but you get the gist of it. I heard it on the radio while driving today, so don't have a link.

BTW, I have to go to Starkville, Mississippi, in two weeks to give a talk. Checked airline tickets last night. What usually would be for me at my short distance maybe $225, was listed at over $600. Memphis, 28 minutes flying away, was $530.

Whew....
