Cat: "deterrence". The best "deterrence" is a sufficient number of pepsi and coke bottling plants and a lot of rock and roll. So far as I know, we have never had a terrorist incident involving people who bought into the consumer society and pop culture we call our own. Our most subversive weapons are "lifestyle" industries -- and our enemies know it. We should forget about bin Laden and should instead threaten to obliterate anybody who might stop us from setting up vending machines in Muslim countries before it is too late. Just kidding -- I think.
