Oztime announces senior appointments to forward e-learning strategy
Calgary, AB (September 17, 2001) - Zi Corporation's (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC) subsidiary, Oztime has announced two appointments to its senior team to further develop and execute Oztime's e-learning solutions strategy. The recently appointed chairman of Oztime, the former Canadian Ambassador to China, Howard Balloch and Zi chairman, Michael Lobsinger today announced the appointment of Dr. Andrew Nevin as chief operating officer and Helen Chen as vice president, Project Development for Oztime.

"Since it's launch, Oztime has been growing and developing strategic relationships. It is now time to move Oztime to the next level and deliver on our key commitments and the addition of Dr. Nevin and Ms. Chen to the leadership team is a key step in this process."
Dr. Nevin and Ms. Chen will bring their expertise in meeting Chinese market needs in the face of a changing economy. Dr. Nevin comes to Oztime with a strong background in e-learning and in building and establishing organizations in the Asia-Pacific region, with experience in developing the greater China office for marchFIRST and as senior vice president and managing director for TD Waterhouse, Asia Pacific Region. Prior to joining TD, Dr. Nevin spent 7 years with McKinsey & Company in Toronto and Paris. Formerly of the Mitchell-Madison group, Ms. Chen joins Oztime with over twelve years experience in various industry sectors, including e-learning and management consulting. As vice president, Project Development, Ms. Chen is responsible for developing relationships with major clients and the expansion of Oztime's business in rapidly changing sectors of the economy. Oztime has also accepted the resignation of Yanning Li, president and director of Oztime and Bruce Yang, chief technical officer of Oztime.
