A note on ameritrade. They require at least 10k in any account for it to have shorting ability. So I believe that the percentage of buy orders is skewed by the fact that there are probably more accounts below 10k than above. Also if you cant get short in this market the only way to make a buck is to aggressively buy the dips. Im not saying the majority of ameritraders are good or bad but I think in order to use it as an effective indicator it should be veiwed with that fact in mind. I also wish the media would quit hyping this "help your country buy stock nonsense". It is a shameful attempt to lure in unsophisticated bagholders. Let the "boys" hold what they got instead of dumping if they feel like being patriotic.
