>Children were starving in Iraq before sanctions were imposed. Children will starve in Iraq after sanctions are lifted.

There were not that many Iraqi children starving before the sanctions (not even Kurdish children). There are a hell of a whole lot more children starving since then, which increases the potential pool of suicide bombers. Do we want to stop terrorism or not? We got to consider lifting the sanctions, in other words, our foreign policy towards the region (and the world) needs massive amounts of new blood because it is the root cause of the bloodbath (which has now reached us).

>Did you know that in Iran you can kill you children before they reach a certain age (I think he said 12), no questions asked? This is the value of children in Iran. I'm certain Iraq is similar.

I have Iranian friends (and they all seem to hate the Ayatolahs, and so do I), and frankly, what the hell are you talking about dude?

>Do you recall why we entered Somalia? It was because millions were starving and the "leaders" (those in power) were intercepting U.N. food convoys and feeding their armies.

Oh yeah the good old American empire to the rescue. We went there to establish our control and get that warlord (Ayid or something) who controlled the area that was facing the sea. Look at the map. Look across the sea. Yemen. We are already there, we needed to solidify the passage of the ships (very important to keep our economy going). But, obviously, whoever planned and executed this operation obviously screwed up. No big deal, we are still in Yemen (bin Laden's bombs notwithstanding) and we are staying there. When the Somalis all run out of ammunition (good luck, we are selling it to them) we'll go back in, especially after Osama's men in Yemen get more powerful. Geopolitics-->reality Evil men/humanitarian crap--->stories for children.

IMHO of course
