Comments from Jerry's Kids
"Pete, don't be goaded. You don't look any better when you berate the competition in this way.
"Even if somebody starts a verbal attack, now is not the time to react in similar manners. ...This is OT in itself, but I want you to understand that people in this whole Intel/AMD speculation war will have heightened tensions and their natures will strongly urge them to act in similar manners. Tcmay's comment was stupid, yes, and it was an obvious goad, ..."
You characterize my answer to a question as a "verbal attack."
Someone asked if AMD might not benefit in some way from increased military spending, and I pointed out that AMD had abandoned its formerly strong mil-spec market in favor of cherrypicking just one niche of Intel's markets. I also pointed out that AMD is weak in the areas of MP, fault-tolerant systems, and Xeon-class servers. AMD cherrypicked essentially just the "single CPU, optimized for speed over everything else" niche.
Intel is well-positioned as a supplier to enterprise-computing vendors, in areas of high-rel mil-spec parts, and for fault-tolerant architectures. AMD is not.
This is reality, the outcome of Jerry's Crusade to, as Elmer put it, topple the Great Satan. And Jerry's Kids are running around saying I have "started a verbal attack" and am "goading." And that my comments are "stupid."
As Jack said, "You want the truth? You can't _handle_ the truth!"
Meanwhile, if and when your little censor acts to censor me, I will treat it as badge of honor.
