Hi Eric - Your comments have not been diversionary. In that they haven't exactly obscured any ongoing Cisco specific discussion.

But moreso, they go to context anyway and help to frame the discussion. So they are useful. A discussion about the discussion, sort of.

As to cash burning holes in pocket? I know how you feel. But so far except for trading there hasn't been a better ROI than a mattress. Even covered calls seem to have lost their fancy. On the CC4D thread there were some great examples of profitable trades. Until you factor in what the underlying has done in the timeframe. Yeouch.

As to upside in the future? I fully agree with you about that. And strangely too I also agree with Monty because I see downside before the upside sets in.

Which implies that one could get more upside by waiting. I guess that's the difference between perspectives. One says "I can get more if I wait", and the other which says "why bother, more will come".

IMHO, neither decision is "wrong", and indeed both seem to take the same factors into account (LT pending up, ST pending down). It depends on which principles take more weight in the decision.

Meanwhile, if your cash is burning a hole in your pockets, jump in a pool. If it isn't good advice, at least it is refreshing, feels good and is good for the heart.

We could use a bit more of that these days.

John.
